Clarence & Cripps Inc.
International Food (British Isles)
Clarence & Cripps is a British-owned company selling British food and gifts in Hudson, Quebec. Owner, Maxine Clarence, a native of Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, believes it takes one to know one. It is a haven for expats and other nationalities who would like a taste of Great Britain, for as you cross the threshold of the store, you immediately feel that you are there.
The company started as an on-line company www.clarenceandcripps.com and now ships right across Canada, wholesales, and has a shop. With their own line of British sausages - British breakfast bangers, Lincolnshire, Cumberland & Olde English (made to a secret family recipe from back home), kippers, smoked haddock, Melton Mowbray pork pies, cornish pasties , Devonshire double cream, groceries, and a huge selection of imported chocolates and sweets, you'll be spoiled for choice. Don't forget to try their new line of steak & kidney pies. Now there's Coronation Street items, British designer Sophie Allport peg bags and aprons along with Globy Art kitchen attire.
The charming store reminds you of a traditional British sweet shop/grocery store as you are greeted by authentic British accents. You can pick up a British newspaper, buy some goodies or just pop in for a cuppa and a chat.
